You and I Belong

“How did I know you without knowing…all I know you and I belong”

The song is a very simple, right to the point love song.   

We picked this song from the Thresher Shiver Cd that we found the song “Be Honest On”.  Even though the version we listened to was more country or midstream Americana we took a shot on recording it to establish a wider range of music that works for the Tony Ocean Show.  It was after the rhythm section Paul Casino, Joe Dorenbos and Mitch Straeffer  laid the tracks down, and Tony sang his master vocals we realized we had a big hole in the song. 

During a break in the session, Producer Phil Vaughan heard two engineers playing in the studio lounge using a steel guitar through this unique sounding amp.  Phil asked the two studio engineers Kirk Heidenheimer, and Zack Jarrett along with CD engineer Mike Ward to take a crack at filling some of the holes in the song.  Two weeks later we had a hit.  “You and I Belong” is a song about love at first sight.   The lyrics reaches deep into your heart. Tony Oceans voice leads the listener on a path to find true love.  Listen close to the guitars, and then your heart will follow.
