The new ocean Cd offers a departure from his traditional Sinatra /Martin Ballads Anchored by the Smash hit Me and Mrs Jones the new Ocean Cd will feature songs by Van Morrison, The Neville Brothers, Lionel Ritchie,
Ocean to introduce 10 new songs from the brand-new CD. However, Tony Ocean needs no introduction as he can lay claim to playing the part of Dean Martin in Chicago's "Rat Pack" production. He also has resoundingly worked the room on a regular basis at the legendary Jilly’s Night Club in Chicago, New York and Las Vegas.
The CD includes a variety of surprise guest appearances by local music luminaries including Buckingham’s lead guitarist, Bobby Abrams, Jazz legend Maurice Spiccia and the unforgettable voice of Joyce Fasion, a longtime member of the Redd Foxx and Chaka Khan bands. Fasion’s rhythm and blues roots were evident when she joined Tony Ocean for a memorable duet of the old “I Want Your Love” tune made famous by Big Twist and the Mellow Fellows.
Other highlights included “She” from Knotting Hill and a Lionel Richie song called “Good Bye” that was warmly embraced by the enthusiastic crowd. In a departure from his musical modus operandi, Ocean broke out a song penned by Robbie Robertson of the Band entitled “Out of the Blue” that revealed Ocean’s other influences. He closed off the first set with the title track from “Me and Mrs. Jones” that had a whole “thing going on” with the entire crowd singing along to the song’s famous hook.

Living Numb
is the final product of what appeared to be a lifetime of
writing for Chicago singer/songwriter Marlon Longid. The album contains
songs that seduce slyly with soulful lyrics and raw musical force. The album
was recorded at Brass Ring Studios in Chicago during the very first days of
2000. Living Numb was produced by Marlon
Longid, and mixed/engineered by Pete "Paris" Lahr and Soulfix during the
following weeks. Al Ursini completed mastering at Studio Chicago in May
2000. |
